I thought I was missing something, because I couldn't see why I should feel sorry about the old woman, so I asked you. Then I read the description and I understood that you probably say so because at her age she has to go to the market and sell the sheep to gain money.
My goodness that is a heart breaking image!! It really sturs up the emotion! You feel sad for those poor lambs that have been put into a bag and most likely dragged for a bit to that place...the old woman does not seem like any rich person and is in need of money, and my gosh what a look those men are giving those sheep. It makes me want to cry. Amazing photo!
I really like this image. It's such a beautiful picture as it conveys emotion in a brilliant way. Also thank you so much for the title - Orthodox Easter - as it is inclusive towards all the smaller Slavic countries who tend to be forgotten when people label the holiday as Greek Easter (something which can be quite irritating to those of Slavic background).
There's an air of expectation in the photo, and at first I thought it was an old photo. The atmosphere reminds me of a Slavic country from some time gone by. Yet, obviously this is at some point in the present, considering the graffiti in the background. It's an odd mingling of past and present, mixing old tradition and new fashions.
